With there being no football next week I will be spending the night in Edinburgh - now normally I like the place and enjoy being there BUT this trip is different. My older brother lives there and has done for 20 years or so and has just married his 3rd scotch (sic) wife. She is into sport (ooer missus) and is a big Andy Murray fan. Myself and my 2 brothers are big England fans and have basically adopted the reverse 'belief system' of the Jocks, including Murray, that is to say we support whoever Scotland are playing. During one drunken argument about Murray my younger brother said that if Murray ever won a Major he would walk down Princess Street in Edinburgh with a kilt on singing that amusing anti English ditty 'flower of Scotland'. Being an Englishman his word is his bond, and the walk of shame will be taking place this coming Saturday at around 3pm - complete with a bag pipe blower (or whatever the term is). 7 of us will be travelling North to watch plus a handful of Sweaties of my other brothers acquaintance . Even worse someone (not me) has contacted both the Edinburgh evening news and the Dunblane paper with story - the Edinburgh paper actually ran a short report on it without names. So the moral of the story is unless you want to dress in a skirt and be humiliated in public - be careful what you bet when you have had a drink !!! So any JOTL who are in Edinbugh next Saturday come and watch and make yoursleves known Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
