Although I am a little suspicious about the deal, as there are many
questions yet to be answered, can't we take it on face value?

After 21st Dec Bates will be Chairman in name only - quite a normal step I
believe when new business owners take over a going concern. GFH C (with a
financial backer) will be 100% owners. Surely that means no more money
into Bates' pockets? Isn't this the main reason the "boycotters" were
staying away?

I honestly think that the majority of the boycotters would come up with any
excuse not to go, instead of just admitting:

   - I don't miss it
   - I've grown out of it
   - I can't afford it
   - I've found other things to do
   - I prefer shopping with the wife
   - I prefer decorating with the wife
   - The wife says I don't want to go anymore ;-)

What I (we?) wanted was new investors to inject cash into the playing team
- isn't this what we've got? Why not give them our support, at least you
can stop again if they don't back up their talk after the transfer window?

I for one am taking it on face value - we have new owners. Give it a
chance.
