So ... Where does that leave the ownership of Elland Road and Thorpe Arch. Surely the new owners as part of their due diligence will have identified who actually owns these assets and presumably the leases will need to be reassigned ? Assuming of course that Bates doesn't own them.
However, at a recent Test Match in Galle, sitting next to an expat who works in South Africa ... He was adamant that the ground and training ground were owned by Bates via amongst other things a travel and hotel company in SA that the expat worked for ..
