Yes I was positive and that was because there was so much positive play from our team, but that doesn't change the fact that Becchio is massively holding the team back. The frustration was there to see through Diouf's body language as Becchio failed to keep possession or flick it on to a white shirt rather than open space. Then we had the stray pass to a Palace player when there's white shirts all around him, and the groan and anger in the stands.
At this level I do think there is room for a limited centre forward , with limited ability who gets in where it hurts and scores a shed load of goals. Unfortunately, the limitation can't drop to Becchio's level who I maintain is the most limited football I have had the misfortune to watch. A true striker in that role would have got a hat-full yesterday, crosses were flying in left, right and centre. Lee Chapman would have had a ball, however Becchio was missing on most occasions and only got his goal by being presented on a plate with a goal from 2 yards.
