Hello,

People use other peoples opinion on becchio to try and rationalise with you
regarding your extremist views on becchio by referencing widley respected
opinions as evidence, but it is ultimatley pointless as with any extremist you
only view things in black and white and are totally unable to concede or accept
any view outside your own. Talking to you about Becchio is like to trying to
convince Al-Qaeda that Americans arent all bad. The instant anyone dare stand
up in defence of becchio they are suddenly branded Becchio fans who think he is
a legend as opposed to people with a rational view who can see despite his
obvious limitations (poor touch etc) he has a good scoring record and has been
a good servant to the club and that there have been far worse players at the
club (albeit with different limitations). Billy Paynter, Mike Grella, Liam
Dickinson, Gary McSheffrey, Lee Trundle, Sam Vokes and Mikkel Forsell just to
name a few in the strinking department who i doubt scored mor
e than 10 goals between them.

Todays match report goes to prove your almost zealot like obsession with
slating Becchio was he poor ... yes undoubtedly, but what about peltier who was
woeful at LB? or several other players who were just as poor or for instance
varney who was totally anonymous and awful when he came on, and apart from a
half decent display against an awful saints side, has been abject. Are you
really saying you would start varney ahead of Becchio??!!

Will I be singing luciano Becchio in the kop next home game, without doubt ...
is it because I think he is the best player ever and I blindly adore him... no
hes just one of our longest serving players who has contributed a decent
amount of goals and effort to my club. Would I like four better strikers at
leeds yes undoubtedly, is that going to happen anytime soon, no chance.

Anyway no doubt Ill be branded a Becchio fan and slated for coming out of the
woodwork....Unfortunatley exremists are never willing to accept any middle
ground may exist.

can't remember if it was linked on here or waccoe but the below link to a radio
interview with Andy Hughes, kind of sums up for me that its not always about
ability:

out of interest I take it you hated Andy Hughes?

Luciano Becchio there is no myth - he's just a fairly limited player who works
hard, has scored a decent amount of goals and is a good servant to LUFC.

(I have this exact same long running argument with my Dad who I go to games
with he shares your extremist approach)

Cheers Ross
