Went to see City v Newcastle on satdi. Standard of football was ridiculously high. The front four for City just so fast and skilful. Not a full house, but close to 50,000 there I think.
Anyway, the point is that whilst I've seen City a lot over the years, upto and including the FA Cup final 18 months ago, their matches now that they've proved they can win the league are soulless. You could not watch without being so aware that their great team is completely due to money, that if they wanted to they could score pretty much at will. Do we really want a load of cash from new owners? Is it not better to be a club that relies on the transfer skills of a manager, and the output of a good youth policy? Will a premier league future where we get twatted by the likes of City be a fulfilling one? Does it really make watching football better with Tevez up front rather than Becchio? Best match I've been to recently was Guiseley v Hyde. Proper football with high stakes. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
