Will keep it brief since most will have seen it on TV. I agree with Colin for an hour or more we did really well and gave them a hard time and it was a good match , then the last 20mins or so it was a rout. First half was great - a real battle and a great atmosphere - will these 'part-timers' come back on Saturday now they have seen what we are capable of ? We played some great football all game with some nice passing moves. We really need to keep Thomas till the end of the season - he is different class and was able both to link up with Diouf and Green who are also class players and to lay one on a plate for Becchio. It was exactly what Colin had asked for, more crosses into the box for Becchio to get on the end of. As for Becchio he took his goal with real style and this is what he is good at. Lees seemed to grow as the game went on and really looked the part. At half time we all agreed that Ashdown was the best sub keeper we have had for years (he did blot his copy book a bit with their equaliser) his save from Fat Frank's freekick was top drawer. Things just did not quite go right - we needed to hang on for 10mins at the start of the second half but Ashdown made his error and then to concede direct from a corner into the box was poor.# Overall though I was pleased with the team and the performance and had a good night. The new owners need to work out how to get that level of support week in , week out 2 songs worthy of note - when Cole came on "Cheryl Cole is having a party shes having a threesome with Diouf and Varney" (only snag for me was I misheard it and was singing she's having a pizza with Diouf and Varney !! Then at the end "take Bates with you when you go" aimed at the Chelsea fans (also sang "shoot the President")
