Firstly, a bit of an admission: as a joke, my wife gave me "David Beckham: My Side" (which she had found in a charity shop for £2) for xmas. But, contrary to her expectations, I read it avidly, and found it quite enjoyable and very interesting.
But my point here is that he TWICE describes how happy he was when he was wearing an all white kit. When he put on the Real kit for the first time, for a press conference, he dawdled in front of a mirror before leaving the changing room b/c he loved the all white kit so much............and he saw it as a lucky omen when he found out that England were going to wear all white for that famous game v Greece at old Trafford.
