That brings back memories of childhood in the 60s - desperately hunting round market stalls and sports shops to get an affordable badge that would transform your white football shirt into a Leeds shirt (once your mam had sown it on of course - which could add a couple of weeks to the whole process).
As for "a pure white kit", the shorts never quite matched the shirt.
