Ha--Leeds United won the first EPL game I ever watched, against Tottenham. It was love at first sight! Few weeks later, my birthday was approaching, so I talked my dad into buying me a Leeds shirt that I saw in a store. After that, I was already a shirt in and was a diehard...nobody mentioned I was hopping on the bandwagon just before the wheels came off!
Back in those early days, we only got English soccer on Champions League on the telly, so supporting Valencia or a non-English side just wasn't an option. Of course, things have come along since then. I've committed the cardinal sin of supporting other teams--Vancouver Whitecaps in MLS and my local side, FC Edmonton. Leeds will always be my first love though...
