I imagine that for other people, transfer deadline day could be kind of like having an approaching birthday - excited, you know that you'll get a few early presents, but expect that most of them will come on the day itself.
As a Leeds supporter though, I feel it's much more akin to waiting for your execution day. Hoping as each day passes that the pardon will come, but knowing deep down that you're for the hangman's noose.
