Former LU defender Darren O'Dea is available....
Toronto FC will face Sporting Kansas City on Saturday night (Sportsnet 360 at
8:30 p.m. ET) without the services of team captain and Ireland international
defender Darren O'Dea. The club has issued the following statement:
"Darren O’Dea went back to Toronto to finalize a transfer. As per club policy
we will not discuss terms and cannot provide any further information at this
time."
In O'Dea's absence the captain's armband will go to defender Steven Caldwell on
Saturday.
Another ex-LU defender Andy O'Brien is about to return to the Vancouver
Whitecaps MLS lineup after recovering from a severe hamstring injury. O'Brien,
after an initial poor start, has been a stalwart in the Whitecaps back four
forcing me to eat my words when he came over here.
