I think (unless we get a winger or two in) that his first choice team will have
the midfield diamond with Green at its base, Rudi and Murphy central and
McCormack at the point.
The 2 up top will be Hunt and one of Varney / Poleon / Smith - if the front two
don't work or when Diouf is fit, Diouf will be the top of the diamond (and in
his absence White) and Ross will move into the strikers role.

So team is (with back up in brackets)
Kenny (Ashdown)
Byram/ Lees / New Signing/  Warnock  (Peltier,Killock,Pearce, Drury)
Green (Brown)
Austin / Murphy (Tonge / Norris)
McCormack (Diouf or White)
Hunt / Varney (Poleon / Smith)

McD

So for Saturday v Brighton with Byram out , no new signing, Austin suspended
I think he will start
Kenny
Peltier, Lees, Pearce, Warnock
Green
Murphy Tonge
McCormack
Hunt Varney

(of course Brian could have widely different ideas - both in terms of personnel
and general shape )
It looks short of width , pace and excitement but may be able to 'do a job'
As we saw last year , most games will be very tight and a good run puts you in
the play offs and a bad one has you looking at relegation

Whatever, I have had a nice break from football , a couple of pre -season
looseners (Farsley and Nurnberg) and am raring to go - nice 11.45 in the pub
for a few pre match scoops with LU mates on Sat. Just hope the team are in the
same mind frame - all ready and raring to go, and looking forward to a more
postive atmosphere and a bigger crowd.
Dave

I wanna see Rudi and Murphy in central midfield together - quietly impressed by
Murphy on Saturday - good feet, made space, pings long/short passes with
accuracy - seems to sit deeper than a MacAllister, but there was a
similarity...didn't see much by way of tackling but it was only one game.
