I take it there's something wrong with The List? Two emails about yesterday
- none concerning the game and one of Rich's Becchio " rants"??!

You'll be pleased to know Rich the talk about getting him back on season
long loan is gathering pace - how will you cope? ( for the record I
certainly don't want him back)

I went yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice weather, easy accessible
ground, 4800 noisy Leeds fans, a decent performance and three away points.

I'm pretty optimistic this season and I'm enjoying it again so I'm not very
critical. We're trying to play it about a bit and pass the ball, the
problem with this is that when a pass goes wayward (which at this level it
invariably does) it looks bad - if you hoof it up and an opposition player
gets it, you don't really notice that we've "lost it". The more games we
have, the better the understanding between players will get.

A big difference from a year ago is the relationship between players, and
fans and players - we seem as one again. Telling for me was at the fulltime
whistle, Varney ran straight to the fans - if wouldn't have done that a
year ago.

I really like Brian D's behavior as well, I like the way he talks to the
media and he seems to have a growing bond with the players and up fans. I
know its early days but he could become a Leeds legend.

As for the game, Bolton were shocking and we should have scored more,
especially in the first half. They had a couple of chances but their
finishing was woeful.
A great set piece ball from Murphy and a clean header by Varney gave their
keeper no chance. Austin is a good captain, yes he does the odd bad pass
but he tackles brilliantly and his commitment is unquestionable.
Pearce had a good game too and looked pretty solid.
My only slight concerns are that I can't see Hunt ever scoring! I hope it
does come home for him but it doesn't seem to be working for him yet. Also,
I thought the last 20 mins was crying out for Diouf and go for the jugular
but instead we tried to wind down the clock - a tactic I really don't like.

All in all tho, a good win. 6th and looking okay. A team who are trying
(all I want), owners who listen (albeit skint) and a decent human being of
a manager! Onwards and upwards!
