I got dogs abuse for what I said especially the Evening Post and so called lefty journalist Pete Lazenby. It was at that point I thought bollocks to it all. I had helped an honourable man, Norman Stubbs work towards putting a very credible package together: club , ground and training ground but because he wasn't willing to keel over to things like the financial demands of some members of the Kronsortium we got Bates and all that that would mean. The abuse wasn't important (some Leeds Fans even assaulted me in City Station) what was important was the fact that someone with Bates' well documented history could even be considered as fit to own a football club.
