For us, the key to enjoying it was discovering that it is possible to get extra "Fast Pass" tickets. We asked at the gates on the way in and they gave us more (you're only supposed to have one active at once, using your entrance ticket). We sussed that if the adults went in separately and both asked, we got even more. And if you went back to a different welcoming person and asked again, you might get more still. In the end, we had about 5 each, which meant we could book times on all the major attractions well in advance and then handle our day much more easily (and with much less queuing). I expect that they only dole out extra passes quite so easily on quieter days though...
