Don't know squat about Galaxy, but there's one for iPhone called "Book
Manager, Collector, Organizer & Inventory Database", which I believe does
all that sort of stuff. So there's a chance they do it for other platforms
as well?

The Developer's name is "Runner Apps"...

Subject: [LU] Totally NonLU: Techies question about smart phone apps and
barcode scanners

Hi Folks

To take your minds off depressing results I have a question - I have over
1,000 books which finally, after many years, are now all in the same place
and out on shelving (nothing in mouldy cardboard boxes anymore - hoorah!!!)
so I'd actually like to inventory them.  Most of them have barcodes so I'd
like to just scan them with my smartphone (Galaxy something or other) and
save the information in a spreadsheet/database of some sort.  Looking on
t'internet all the barcode scanning apps seem to be just for price
comparison, anybody able to recommend anything, preferably for free (a
Yorkshireman's favorite price).

Thanks

MOT
