As Nick says no-one knows what is going on.
Just listened to the post match interview with Gibbs.
His take is that he was going to the game as assistant manager as usual and got
a call from Haigh asking him to take control for the day which he agreed to do.
He picked the team that Brian had chosen and told them to do and play as Brian
had had them doing all week in training. Then came the expected / usual "we did
it for Brian" etc.
Brian spoke to him straight after the game asking how it went and he told him
how well the team had played in difficult conditions, both off the pitch stuff
and the strong winds on the day.
Going forward he is going to come to work on Monday for training as usual and
has told the players to do the same. He is in constant contact with Brian ,
with whom he is very close, but has no idea if Brian will be there or what the
future holds, Has seen nothing like it in all his 30+ years in the game. Then
came the usual platitudes about all the counts is Leeds United and everything
that happens should be for the good of the club. Did say how proud Brian was to
be our manager
So nothing we don't already know other than (maybe) it was Haighs request for
him to be manager on Sat and that it was Brians team and formation. (some of
you may know this already)
