The thing with the fit and proper test is that the regulations are there in
print - it will all revolve around his convictions and whether they are 'spent'
or not. They cannot and will not look at any prospective new owners from any
sort of moral standpoint , they will not  be concerned with 'bad behaviour'
only convictions, so the fact that some journalists, fans, players or anyone
else may think the new owners are not nice people will not matter
Cast your mind back to when Siniwatra (sp) took over Man CIty the fact that he
was wanted back home for all sorts of financial malpractice did not matter, at
the time he had not been convicted and so he was deemed fit and proper (in the
same way that Bates with all his dodgy dealings is still viewed as fit and
proper)
What is not clear is what counts as 'spent' under the rules. For most things
the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act would apply and the time periods under that
Act depend upon the sentence received - I assume the FL will use the same time
limits

I think it's just the injustice of it all he's railing against! The FL will get
slaughtered by the Sunday journo mob if this takeover goes through, and really
it's win-win for them if they say no. Of course, it leaves us still with GFH
and the other will they/won't they bids? A fuck-up that even Bates didn't
manage, which is saying something eh?
