This was a much better performance and I can hardly believe we lost, as we had far more possession throughout. McCormack should have scored before he actually did, as he was put clean through and chipped it over the keeper but it came back off the post. Burnley's equaliser came completely against the run of play. Even at 2-1 down we didn't give it up and won a series of corners near the end, but couldn't quite force an equaliser.
You're right that the formation was the biggest problem. Wickham never looked comfortable playing wide, he was slow to track back and most of his crosses were over-hit. I don't know why, but we started with the right-footed Wickham on the left and the left-footed Mowatt on the right, when surely it should have been the other way round. Wickham was eventually switched to the right when Poleon came on for Mowatt. But it was certainly a game we didn't deserve to lost. The Leeds fans did sound amazing at the full time whistle. I think the problem is the formation. Apparently to accommodate Smith , which he just had to do, he played Wickham and Macca as wingers in a 4-3-3. That's always going to be difficult but having sacked off Stewart and Kebe what choice did he have? Also listening to Radio Leeds it does sound like every time they attack they are going to score and if Warnock is injured surely we need a left back loan signing ? Hang on a minute. Haven't we just loaned Drury to Bradford ? Ok, he's average at best, but streets ahead of Daniel Pugh.
