Spot on, Ian. You put my point better than I did. “Is McD the man to spend
it? No.” I don’t know I’d go so far as to say he’s clueless….but he is
CLEARLY not the man to spend it. And this is too important an opportunity to
waste.

Sorry mate - although I admire your positivity and optimism - you must have
been watching a different game to me. We've been shit all year.

Our situation does have parallels with scum - if there's money to spend is McD
the man to spend it? No. The fans kept him in a job on fiasco Friday but their
support has spectacularly melted away when it has become apparent that he is
clueless.

McDermott out.

I actually thought the performance v Forest was not all that bad.

I know they haven't been pulling up any trees recently (hah!), but
nevertheless I thought Forest were excellent. They scored one and a half
very good goals and then produced an extremely disciplined defensive
display for 75 mins. Although it is true that we rarely looked like
breaking them down, I felt we played with more passion and skill than you
might expect given our recent run of results.

The first goal was a breathtaking and thoroughly un-Championship type piece
of combined skill and movement. They produced two sublime touches around
the halfway line and then the movement of Mclaughlin & DErbyshire was
outstanding. OK, maybe Warnock should have got across a bit quicker or
Pearce should have shown a bit more pace, but I think overall you just put
your hands up and say well played after a goal like that. The second goal
was also an excellent quick break, although we did contribute with two
mistakes. We were actually building a decent attack down the left, and then
someone (couldn't tell who on the telly, but my number one suspect is
Brown) tried to lat the ball back from the edge of the box without looking,
and gave the ball straight to a red shirt. Within seconds, the ball was on
the edge of our box, where Wootton actually did well to cover D/shire's run
and got to the ball first. He made the mistake of trying to be too positive
and clear the ball downfield, ending up playing it against the player (who
was very lucky the way the ball then broke for him.) Wootton should have
played it safe towards the opposite corner flag, but he was unlucky.

After that, we clearly lacked a bit of confidence (understandable) and
quality. As some have said, White & Stewart might have been better
options. But overall, I did not see that as a team who are clueless or are
not playing for the manager. So I say MCDERMOTT IN.

Agreed
But he seems to have lost confidence. Both in himself and that of others.
That tends to become a vicious spiral.
Pity.

I'm with you that McDermott's got to go. I'm not sure that I'm ready to
call him a bad manager -- any more than I am David Moyes -- but the water
gone under the bridge has persuaded me that this manager is not the right
one for this team at this time. And, frankly, the unique opportunity that
the current structure of player personnel gives us this close season means
we cannot waste this chance with BMD. We simply cannot.

We have the opportunity to remake the side to a new vision. We need to
find the right manager and take that chance...

I've now got off my fence, McDermott out!

Yesterday was the last straw. Two wins against probably the worst two
teams in the division hides nothing. McDermott doesn't know what he's
doing.

Subs yesterday - two nil down and he does a straight swap, Hunt for Smith.
We were losing ffs! Why not have both Hunt & Smith on? Then Tonge for
Pugh. Fcuk me, why not bring White on for some pace down the wing (or
Stewart for that matter)
He shouldn't have brought Austin back, and when Murphy has looked improved
playing in a more forward role, why shove him back behind Austin?
And Wooton? On the wing? Why?

In the post match interview (on radio Leeds) he moaned about not having any
pace in the team (or squad). What? He had White and Stewart both (unused)
on the bench!
When Popey asked him if he had thought about changing anything, hinting at
playing some youngsters - he said he had changed it and was trying the
diamond formation (again). Clueless.

I was willing to give him some backing but he really doesn't know who to
play, or where they should play.
Nice bloke but I've lost my patience. I don't want him to squander any
money that Cellino might have available (if any).
