I don't know why anyone would look for excuses to support the decision to play Wickham on the wing. There were plenty of other options to give us width.
Wickham and Smith would have been a real handful with McCormack playing in the hole. He has just got player of the month playing centre forward for a crap team and apparently he turned Wednesday's season around playing centre forward.
