I get fed up of the hype around England. We used to be capable of winning tournaments like this and perhaps justified it, but it's now a bit like the media whipping us into a frenzy on the premise that Fulham are going to challenge for premier league glory. I feel so detached from the England players whom I never see play anymore, most of whom seem to warm the benches of top 10 clubs or play for no mark teams in the premier league and are playing only because there's barely and English players anymore. 30% or something in the top flight? Even places like Spain, perhaps 40% of their league is Spanish but at least they have top players playing overseas. English football has died on its arse.
And, when you support Leeds, why support the international equivalent? Constant underachievement and disappointment. No - I just like watching international football as a neutral thanks. Unless England win it of course then I'm a glory seeking bastard! ;-) -- > On 27 Jun 2014, at 04:27, Ian Murray <[email protected]> wrote: > > Why would you want your own country not to qualify? > > I understand not being that upset when they inevitably lose but surely you'd > prefer them to do well than not? > > Just don't get it myself.
