In addition to Bianchi and Sivestri on 3 year contracts or whatever we have now
signed 22 yr old Souleymane Doukara
Another one about whom I know absolutely nothing - a quick trawl of the
internet shows a couple of goals and a pretty mixed record good for a winger,
not so good for a striker

To quote Hockaday

“He is a big, powerful and fast player with a hunger to succeed. He is exactly
what we need at the club.” -

If that is the case then he does sound like exactly what we need - but I am
sure similar things were said about Ricketts, Kandol etc and we know how some
of them turned out.

The 'doubters' and moaners on waccoe are, of course slagging off the signing of
another 'nobody' the optimists are suggesting we have another rough diamond.
One thing is for sure, the first few games will be very interesting whilst we
try and work out which player is which and where they play and how good (or
bad) they are !

We certainly lack pace and power so lets hope that Doukara can provide them.

To be honest apart from Ross (and the fee makes that the right decision) none
of the players who have gone are any good and we certainly would not have got
anywhere with them in the team so these new players could be the answer -of
course just because the likes of Varney Green and Brown were not great does not
mean that there are not worse players out there !

If we do sign Rossini (a defender) as well as the keeper, midfielder and
striker - that would mean 4 foreign outfield players all new to the club in the
starting line up - a gamble if ever there was one. Due to these players being
unknown and the 'anti Hockaday' feeling amongst a large number of fans and the
dismal showing last season, I think patience on the terraces will be in short
supply and we really do need to start well. Last season we had the full house
and optimism at the Brighton game - I don't think we will be in any danger of
selling out for our first home game this time (Boro iirc)

Personally I think I will take a trip to ER for the Dundee game - I cannot wait
to see these new additions

I am getting my 'football shakes' with all these weeks without a game to go to
- I have only watched the Brazil penalty shoot out and the last 30 mins of
Germany Brazil game since Englands exit and will probably keep an eye on the
score tonight but not watch it as such
I am a LEEDS UNITED fan and not much of a football fan these days
