Gone to Sheff Wed now either on a free or for an undisclosed sum (cannot be much) depending on what you read Bit of a shame for him, when he first broke into the team he looked a real prospect but, as so often with centre halves at Leeds, he got worse the more he played - not sure Colins public criticism of him helped at all. Got to the stage last season where my best mate really hated him, he was so fed of up of the hoof upfield that went into touch or to the opposition. He was part of a very shaky defence so is no great loss, especially if we are tying to play a passing game, not his forte
Having said all that he did Ok for one season and did give us hope of more to come. Hopefully he will be able to get his career back on track (apart from against us of course) and start to improve again. I bear him no ill will but am not sorry to see him go - not sure about the Pearce / Wooton partnership, and with Zailiukas already gone and Killock too young and Rossini deal having fallen through we are in desperate need of a centre half, preferably one with pace, a good reader of the game who is strong in the air and on the ground (not too much to ask is it ?) No idea how good Cooper from Chesterfield is and whether we will agree a fee with them, he was 'let go' by Hull but that does not mean much either way DaveĀ _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] John 'Grampa' Sykes Rest In Peace old lad 28th Oct 1938 - 12 Nov 2013 MARCHING ON TOGETHER
