Like the others, not much to add to add to what I put at half time. First half was appalling and second only marginally better. I think they took their foot off the gas - if I was hypia I'd be furious with bha for not killing the game off sooner.
There is nothing wrong with the diamond formation if you have the players to play it. The player at the base of the diamond needs to be good positionally but Austin doesn't have a clue. I was watching him closely yesterday and he's all over the shop. He doesn't track runners and seems oblivious to anything around him. His early yellow card stemmed from him being in the wrong place, losing his runner and then being forced into a wild lunge. You also need pace in the full back positions which is not Warnock. Byram seems ideally suited but seems to have lost a yard of pace and kept stopping and coming back inside. Maybe he just can't be arsed and wants to go to Southampton. I was mystified why he took sharp and Murphy off towards the end - Murphy was poor but better than tonge or Austin and why take off sharp when you need a goal? Poleon does not look like a footballer to me and I think it was him that jumped over the ball at the free kick.
