Good article. I don't think it is fair on Smith to play him up front when we 
are adhering to this useless diamond formation. We are too narrow and the only 
balls he receives are with his back to play from long & deep which always 
favour the centre halves.

He should definitely have given new players a run last night. We are not going 
to win the cup and it would have gotten them used to a hostile English away 
game.

I have no axe to grind about Hockaday but he really needs to start showing some 
bravery in his decision making. We all know Bolton is a must win game and if we 
lose he will be gone.

You cannot question the commitment last night but the writing was on the wall 
after Murphy walked. This lad simply has not got it. He does not have the 
mental strength to wear the shirt, makes poor decisions, hides and cannot step 
up when we need it.

Sounds like another 3, mainly midfielders wingers, will be signed before 
deadline. Let them play FFS.
