I have just seen a report that the 'Merseyside Derby' is staying as a 5.15pm kick off (presumably to TV) despite both the local council and the police objecting and asking for it to be no later than 1.30pm It appears via BBC site, that the Premier League have refused to bring kick off forward. So how is this 'tangentially Leeds' - only insomuch as we have an awful lot of games both home and away brought forward to 12noon or even moved to noon on a Sunday on 'police advice'. For the Everton Liverpool game the police just fear 'problems with disorder but have no actual intelligence' that anything will happen. Why do we have to do what the police say and why do the club and Football League never object. Lunchtime kick offs are a pain for anyone who does not live locally or anyone who works Saturday morning (2 of my mates now share a season ticket for this very reason) Our games are moved due to a worry about trouble with no 'intelligence' on the subject. Like many fans it is the whole match going experience that I love, a few beers with my mates beforehand. Pubs are already closing in their droves and pubs which rely on match going fans for their income miss out big style Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
