RabbitsNow that would have been good, no it was dead but had not been skinned
etc. I remember a few years ago at a cub event we got a number of rabbits and
got the cubs to cut the heads off and skin them etc (we did cook and eat them)
It really showed the difference between girls and boys. The girls came nowhere
near us (with one exception) but most of the lads found us to be their
favourite base. To make it even 'more fun' I put the decapitated heads on
staves and put them round the fire - every time I turned my back some boy had
picked up the stick and was waving it around and chasing the girls - A fun day
indeedWIGANAs for yesterday I cannot believe the reports I have read which said
Mowatt (who is very left footed) hit it with his left when clearly it was a
right foot volley. I did not realise we had got lucky in that Sharps pass to
him was deflected off the back of Pearce into his path.Although the TV angle
was not clear it does look like a penalty when Sharp was pushed over in the
boxI was a bit surprised with mackays comments post match - yes they had 58%
(not quite the 60 he is claiming) but so what, possession in itself is of no
use, albeit we should have had more after our goal to keep the pressure off, it
is what you do with it. How on earth the 'stats compiler' can claim they had 19
attempts on goal I do not know. Even the TV could only find two shots saved
easily by Silvestri and then 2 crosses inside the 6yd box that just needed a
touch - surely they do not count as acconts on goal and where were the other 15
? I certainly do not recall them
One final point - like many on here I find Bellusci an accident waiting to
happen and have called him a liability but again it is a clean sheet with him
at the centre of defence. Somehow the Bamba / Bellusci partnership works, not
quite sure why or how and it does give me the horrors from time to time but it
is effective according to the only stat that matters for this - goals conceded.
Perhaps it is the fact that he does give everything and is a proper old
fashioned centre half in terms of commitment and putting his body on the line,
plus it is just his method of playing relying on last ditch tackles. Will it be
good enough next season assuming we can get Bamba full time I am not so sure
but we need to give them a chance as things stand
