Agree with Matt on all comments about the game and McCormack. We could have been easily 3 down inside 10 mins and even with 10 men it seemed like the old days with Grayson (without such attaching threat or intent), i.e., might need 3/4 goals to get a draw. At 2-0 and against 10 men, we could have easily lost. I was only relaxed when the 3rd went in at 90 mins.
McCormack could not have foreseen the most hellish of scenarios; missing chances, off-side goal (all in front of Leeds fans), taken off injured and then having to limp past 3500 Leeds fans to get to the tunnel, and loosing unfairly 3-0. But hey-ho, I don't feel sorry for him. It was clear before that moment that Fulham and Smith and McCormack were destined not to score, but both played well and Silvestre made several good saves as well as Smith missing a couple. It was similar to Bournemouth away in that we could have been 5 down at h-t before going onto win. Even with 10 men they looked more threatening than us. When they hit the post for the 3rd time in the 2nd half and the ball bounced back off the inside of the post straight to one of our defenders, we were laughing more than we did at Morrisons shot on Saturday. Agree re McCormack - didnt really deserve the abuse given the price we got for him and the fact Cellino was forcing him out.
