Agreed!

Cellino's ego won't allow him to take a back seat and watch someone like
Redfearn succeed. He undermined McDermott (remember the nonsense about making
McDermott wear a tracksuit on matchdays?), then brought in a complete nobody to
replace him. To me, any discussion of Cellino's judgment begins and ends with
one word: Hockaday.

Subject: Re: [LU] A piece in defense of Redfearn

If I had to guess what has been going on with all this player nonsense, it
is
that, as reported, Silvestri and Antenucci had tweaks / knocks.
Doukara,
Bellusci, Cani and Del Fabro were fine. Without wishing to
horrifically
generalise at the mentality of all players signed from Southern
Europe,
Silvestri and Antenucci saw it is a nothing end of season match for a
coach
who won't even be there next season. So they saw it as a "why
push
ourselves" and decide to declare themselves injured.

The other 4 have a
collective and to differing degrees sense of
disenchantment and alienation
(rightly or wrongly). To me Cellino has
fanned this on more than one occasion
this season and I would not be
surprised if in private has encouraged (or
certain done nothing to
discourage) his foreign entourage from these feelings
of coach driven
persecution. These 4 therefore foolishly decide to collectively
withdraw
their labour, with the sense they have tacit (but not explicit)
support
from the owner as they see all the mood music that Cellino wants
Redfearn
out.

In summary it would not surprise me if Cellino is right that
he did not
explicitly encourage or directly incite the Striking Six, but his
entire
manner over the season has encouraged this kind of dressing room divide
and
undermining of the coach.

Redfearn is not Mourinho, but I really
struggle to see any better coach
than him would credibly wish to take up the
Leeds job and be allowed to
effectively carry out the role by Cellino. Let's
face it, would you give up
an alternative full time job to relocate and take a
job working for
Cellino, when statistically you are likely to then be
ridiculed, undermined
and sacked within 6 months?

Cellino has sucessfully
made what should at this moment be the most
attractive English job outside the
Prem, with an outstanding crop of
youngsters coming through, into a poisoned
chalice no self-respecting coach
would take.
