Dave mentioned the other day that we do better with Bellusci than without. I mentioned this to a mate, who really doesn't like him, had a bit of time on his hands, and he came up with the follow: =================
Bellusci has made 29 starts (all of them league games) of which Leeds have W11 D9 L9 = 42 points with him in starting line-up - average points per start 1.49 In the Championship so far Leeds have played 44 games and picked up 52 points - average points per start 1.18 He has been booked 13 times and sent off twice - suspended for six games in total. We won one and lost one of the two games in which he was shown a red card. In the 13 games he saw yellow our record was: W3 D6 L4 - average points per yellow card 1.15 I'd concede that those stats show that in terms of points it makes little difference whether he's shown a card or not, and suggest that Leeds do better with him in the team. (For comparison Bamba has averaged 1.35 points per game, Cooper 0.87. Pearce managed exactly 1.00.) But I still think he's an accident waiting to happen and would prefer it if he never played for Leeds again. HA! ================== Me, I like Bellusci. He's hard working, committed, and entertaining, and we seem to do better with him than without. Undoubtedly there are better defenders out there, so if we could swap him for one of those, great, but while he's been here I've liked watching him play.
