Firstly, with regards the 'songs' - I posted the Antenucci one because when I
saw it it brought back great memories - memories of being in a bar in Italy
full of Leeds fans enjoying our European adventure. Fan after fan stood up,
whilst everyone else was quiet, and gave a rendition of the Posh Spice song in
respect of different players - right from the (then) current crop to the Revie
team, the Wilko team and all sorts of odds and sods in between. One of my
favourite nights and the Gucci / Antenucci song brought it back so I added my
Wood version. In bad taste, quite  possibly , a real portrayal of  the
Beckhams, of course not . It is part of our football culture - we sing and
chant and we make up songs that make us laugh, it is what we do. No-one takes
them seriously - yes, some of them can be the wrong side of the 'line' and can
be bad but these Posh Spice ones are funny - don't like them . don't read
them!We all know we are a long way from the top of the tree and where we want
to be, the Manchester teams, Chelsea et al are light years from where we are
and i do not see how we can realistically catch up with them in the present
climate - but I , and most of the match going fans , don't care. We are where
we are - yes we should be higher etc but just as Rochdale fans know they will
never win the Premier League so do most of our fans - get used to it.Today
(match report to follow) was not great but was not that bad either and your
comment "We are a poor team in the second division with no chance of promotion
and
even less of staying up." is total and utter rubbish. I am not a gambler in any
way or form but I will put any money you want that we will NOT be relegated
this season. There is no way we are 'not staying up'
I thought the words to our song, MOT, were about the ups AND downs - yes, at
present we have more downs than ups, but we have a very young team, a team made
up of mainly home grown Leeds lads - Cook, Taylor, Phillips, Byram, Mowatt
coupled with other youngsters with a point to prove and a young(ish) manager
who seems to 'get' being Leeds so just chill, out and get behind the lads ,
things are on the UP
Dave
