I know we were shite on Tuesday, and didn't deserve to win, indeed nil nil would have been the fairest result, but we didn't get the rub of the green. It most definitely was a penalty. It looked like one from where I was in the kop, not very far away, in real time, and even more so when you see it on the telly. The Ipswich player clipped Byram's heels, you can see his stride change when he did it, and looked round straight away, replete with a 'did he see me do it' expression, in the same way batsmen often do when they've nicked one behind. A very poor decision by the ref. And linesman, who was only a matter of metres away. For their goal, the ball was pumped from left to right, Silvestri flapped and missed, but was followed up by one of ours (I can't remember who) who was pulled back by a mighty shirt tug as he tried to clear, so only managed to scoop it back to the left side of goal. Def foul in the box. If we'd got the pen, not conceded, and won the game, it would have only covered up what was a very poor performance - but we'd all prefer to be playing shit and winning than playing shit and drawing or losing. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] MARCHING ON TOGETHER
