Totally underwhelmed with this one, after all the talk of ambition and names
banded about. What happened to only bringing in players who would improve on
what we have and who'd be automatic starters?
We paid over a million for Botaka (should have paid a little more and got
Limbombe, who is apparently now scoring freely and being targeted by Ajax) but,
don't give him any games yet we are now bringing in a player who can't get a
game for his own club, in this League nor who has done anything of note at his
previous clubs to take Botaka's place.
I can understand giving second and third string Premiership players a try at
our level but, this makes no sense, even if he'd been adequate, for Evans at
Crawley. Not, of course that Buckley proved a smart choice either.
I read something yesterday where Evans was saying that clubs see interest from
Leeds and immediately jack up the asking prices which he's not prepared to pay
so, it seems we have found the level of player he is prepared to pay for.
So much for the play offs on this evidence.

I think that's the key point. They know each other and seems we're eager to do
the deal.
Hopefully that relationship will bring out the best in the lad.
