Watford memory - it was a long trip home ...

Cantona's last game for us - the pic above shows him missing when clean through
as we lost 2-1 in the League Cup, November 1992.

We played them in the league cup when we went down and they went up back in
the 80s.

They beat us 4 nil and apart from the successive kick offs we never touched
the ball. It could have been ten, and the difference in class was so great
that I don't remember them once resorting to Graham Taylor's famous long
ball......

Watford memory...
Showing up in a pub in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to watch our play-off final to
return to the Prem. Place was PACKED with Watford supporters...and I mean
packed. I thought to myself is there some strange underground Watford
supporters club movement in the Midwest of the USA?! Quickly found out that
Watford's starting CB Jay Demerit was from Green Bay, Wisconsin and the pub I'm
at is the closest for his friends and family and we're 120 miles away. Que the
bedlam when Mr. Demerit scores and then is a part of the Watford team that
thrashed us to go up.
Of all the places in the world to be that day....about the only worse place was
Wembley.
Cheers

Watched that in Altea, with a p*ss taking Blade - it was all I could do not to
get arrested on the second day of our hols! Shuffled out thinking what a sh*te
way to start the holiday, and resolved never to watch again when abroad.
Haven't stuck to that though, which has been a big mistake too!

We're due a result against Watford though :-)
