...well I wouldn't play Becchio in centre midfield...
someone put some stats up in 2015 about the points the team accumulated
with Bellusci in the team and without him (we were measurably better
with him)
I do think that Coyle/Berardi at RBack will go a long way to giving
balance and restoring some confidence. As mentioned before some of the
things Wootton was getting wrong were not a results of being out of
position (if we accept that he is a CHalf)...he was doing stuff in the
position normally occupied by CHalfs and getting them wrong.
I'm not advocating a witch hunt, that's not the point, the point is
that we can see a weak link and there are apparently obvious
solutions...all we're saying I think is, this is not working, there is
an option, let's at least give it a go.

Not sure the facts agree with your assertion about the defence. We
had a
wobbly 15 mins v B/ton, but prior to that we had conceded 10 goals
in the
preceding 11 games (not sure when Rosler was sacked, but if you cf
the 11
games in Sep & Oct we let in 16.) Maybe the big problem was the
absence of
the much-maligned Bellusci (who Evans has reinstated)?
And I don't pay any attention to this classic internet-age gripe
about
"playing people out of position"..............if you're any good at
football, you can play anywhere on the pitch.

I can't even make my mind up about the fat knacker - there' no doubt
we're
playing better football than under Rosler, Hockaday etc, but with
little
creativity, and a centre so soft that we cave in catastrophically
like at
Brighton. There are some very basic defensive issues not being
addressed,
and I don't know if it's because the defenders we've got are
shit/stupid/lazy/uncommitted, or if the manager simply cannot
motivate
them/organise them, or is it elements of all the above? And what is
the
obsession with playing players out of position - Cook, Byron, Coyle,
Wootton, Mowatt?
It's all a massive f*ck-up that's for sure!
