Don't knowing anyone else saw but Strachan was on goals on Sunday this morning. He had a few interesting things to say, one of which was how dedicated to fitness they were. He said that the senior players set the tone in training and the rest were expected to match their level. He said he spoke to Mcallister the other week, who said he thought he was fit until he came to Leeds and really upped his level. It's what we're missing at the moment - I don't see any positive role models amongst the older players. What frustrates me the most us that with the right management I don't think we're that far off. We have some decent players for this level (Dallas, Berardi, Cooper) and some excellent young players (Cook, Taylor, Mowatt, Coyle). We need a few experienced senior players to support the youngsters and a coach capable of nurturing them and developing them. Evans is nowhere near. He criticises some players publicly (Dallas, Taylor, Wood, Mowatt) but not others (Bellusci, Silvestri) and he plays our better players out of position. Cook is not a number 10 but that's where Evans keeps playing him - I see him as more of a holding midfielder. Mowatt looks more like a 10 but he plays him on the left. He even played Coyle right mid and wooton right back. Of course it all comes back to Cellino - we aren't going to get anyone decent with him in charge. We're facing the new season with a new coach (I can't see Evans surviving which I won't cry over) , no academy boss and one scout. The academy should be the lifeblood of the club - it's the main reason we're not already in league one - but he's running it into the ground. I'm off to watch the 91/92 season review!
