Thanks to the use of two going spare STs I went on Saturday. It was a poor game. Decided to stay in the Grove for an extra pint rather than hurry to ER, and to be honest, we should have just stayed there!!
I know it was an end of season 'meaningless' game, but to a fan I'd say there aren't ever any meaningless games, there's always something to play for - pride, entertainment, the joy of it, desire to win, desire to score, desire to keep a clean sheet, to do the best you can in all circumstances, to impress the manager (incumbent or future ones watching), to impress scouts, to thrill the occasional attender supporter in the hope of increasing the frequency of their attending. DRB Btw, the Grove has finally joined the modern world of the licenced victualler, and sells food.
