Just listened to a 15minute interview with Monk on LUTV and must say I am impressed. He seems more articulate than most of our previous managers. He said things that made sense and were in real sentences and not just a load of cliches and football jargon. He says he has a vision, both short and long term and wants us to have an identity and culture as a team, something he thinks has been lacking. Let's just hope he is here long enough to implement it and see it through. Surely Cellino must see that constant changing is not the solution
To quote one thing he said to give an idea what I mean "I am bringing new ideas, new trainings and a new approach, that is lots of information for the players to compute whilst their bodies are under the stress of the physical exertion that is pre season training..... but if they want to be the best they can be they need to cope" He says both himself and the club did everything they could to keep Cook but he wanted to leave - and that is just how things are, players want to better themselves and play at a higher level, he is disappointed to lose Cook but not surprised and he will jsut get on with things It is clear that Silvestri is out. He has a few more transfers to make Can't wait to see Leeds fans in action but wants the players to use that passion and the fact that we are a big club, to our advantage and not let it affect them the wrong way. Did not give anything away in terms of what type of football or formation we will play. Like I say he sounds like he knows what he wants and how to acheive it - impressive (Only bit I did not like , and very very minor, he put an 's' on training everytime he said it - trainings ) Of course with Cellino in charge it could be another false dawn and could go the same way as Rosler but whatever happens I do think Monk will be a good manager, hopefully for us, but if not somewhere else Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] MARCHING ON TOGETHER
