You are entitled to take a miserablist view of course and the team is by no
means the finished article, but surely no one out there expects Monk to
create a Title winning team in a few months?

There'll be more than a few set backs in the coming months, quite possibly
starting with a full strength post drubbing Norwich tomorrow. But, for the
first time for years' almost all the indicators are positive, it's not just
Pontius that's improved us at the back, Bartley is an improvement over
Cooper, Samba or that other clown, Ayling has been decent, even though I
expect Berardi to get back in if he regains fitness and Coyle is a decent
prospect. In the midfield we've surely seen the last of Murphy, and with
O'Kane and hopefully Bridcutt soon to return we've got a bit of muscle in
midfield. With a choice of 2 out of Hernandez, Dallas or Sackho to be
creative, we just need another attacker to give Wood and Antonnsson some
competition. Monk and Pepe look like a proper management team AND at last
MC has STFU. We are making ER a bit of a fortress again and crowds are
picking up.

yes it could all go wrong and a top 10 would be good for this season, with a
proper push next.
