Dave, one incident in the second half sumed it up for me. We had a
throw in in their left hand corner. Beradi through it long where Wood
on the edge of the six yard box to be fair got a great flick on, to no
one. I could not believe taking a long throw that we did congest the
box with bodies like Cardiff did to us

Yes, we all commented on that.
I agree with most of what Dave and Rich said bit I have to disagree with
Rich's assessment of Wood.
We thought he made some good runs off the ball, getting into decent
positions but never received the ball. What's the point in having a big man
up front if your wide players (which we seem to have loads of) never get
the ball crossed? He also found himself having to go back to the half way
line to get the ball - he was then having to "race" up front in the hope of
getting it back.

Also, a major difference - their 1st goal came from a free kick just inside
our half - they fired it across into the box and scored. In the 1st half we
had a free kick in a similar position, what did we do? Passed it backwards
to keep ineffective possession.

We never had a Plan B and reminded me of Reading's performance against us
earlier in the season, a performance everyone mocked for having loads of
possession with no end result.

A miserable wet day at ER, must have affected me cos I went home on an
early train instead of staying on the lash.

Let's just hope it's a blip. We've had a great record at home recently and
hopefully we'll get back on track on Tuesday.
