I have to admit Saturday he seemed to do everything right that I have
criticized him in the past for.

To be fair all my mates who were 'anti Wood' last season and the start of this
have been won round, as has the vast majority , if not all, the match going
crowd. They accept that he is leaner and fitter than last time and , obviously,
his confidence is sky high at present.
It does make me laugh (and wonder how much they really know) when pundits go on
about his ariel ability. He is average in the air, Saturday was only his third
or fourth headed goal. He is decent in the air when defending corners but that
is because Jansson attacks the ball and Bartley takes the 'big man' that leaves
Wood up against a lesser player. He does not win that many headers in attack
either flick ons or corners etc, just enough to be decent but no better than
that, it is his power, strength and ability with the ball on the floor that
makes him special and short of getting a £10m plus Premier League star I really
doubt we could do better than him. Of course he has faults and that is why he
is at Leeds and not Chelsea or Man City. I do think he will have lots of lesser
Premier League teams sniffing after him if we don't go up and if he were to
leave he would be a massive loss.
Can he score goals at a higher level ? I reckon 'yes' he can , given the
service he wants which is not hoofing it in the air to the big lad,
