Dear Friends of Leeds United I have received this email from “Thirkers”. Dave McAdam must have been one of the oldest, if not the oldest, surviving Leeds United player. He was a very modest man and very giving in his Leeds memorabilia which can be found strewn across http://www.thirkersleeds.co.uk/page9/page9.html and also on my website http://www.ozwhitelufc.net.au/players_profiles/M/McAdamDF.php Some websites/blogs/forums are able to publicise better than others, but I would ask you to make mention of David’s passing, should the local press not give him the credit he deserves. Please feel free to use any information on the above websites and should you require more information, I am happy to oblige. Should you know any LUFC source not circulated could you please onforward. Cheers Tony Hill (Ozwhite) ================================================================================================================================================================
From: Graham Thirkill [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, 19 April 2017 12:21 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Dave McAdam Ey-Up, Dave, My name is Graham Thirkill aka Thirkers. www.thirkersleeds.co.uk Just to let you know Dave McvAdam died yesterday morning he was a very dear friend of mine. If you can put something on your site it would be fitting. He was 94 years old and spent hislast few years in a nursing home. He was a lovely lovely man and proud that he played alongside Big John Charles. He leaves a loving wife, Alice (Lal), (and a wonderful daughter, Susan and a just as lovely granddaughter, Polly. If you know any other owners of Leeds sites would you please pass this information on to them. Dave was probably the oldest ex-Leeds United player to pass away. He fib-=nised his football career for many years at Burton Albion where he was a star. Dave was 94 years old. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] MARCHING ON TOGETHER
