Re Jansson, I started to think Torino feel they can get a better price
elsewhere now - hope you're right about both J and Bartley!

I think Jansson is one of  best centre backs in the Division and the pairing of
him and Bartley is the best in the Division .
From what Adam Pope has said there is no real problem with the transfer as such
it is just about the timing of the payment.Torino say the money was due the
second he had played the 20 games that triggered it, we claim it is not due
till the window opens again at the end of the season. Pope seems confident that
it is still on track, so I will go with that for now (though the headlines
about him training at Malmo, his old club, did have me worried till I read the
full story.
I think Bartley will come back, I think now that Swansea have stayed up they
may not want him and the comments from their manager were more about getting a
decent fee for him.
Not sure about the other loanees , Barrow and Grimes - good riddance to a waste
of money
I have a soft spot for Sacko and always thought we carried more threat when he
was in the team, yes his final ball was infuriating on many occasions, but his
pace was always a threat and he did work hard for the team - I would have him
back if we could get him fairly cheaply
Pedraza - flattered to deceive for the most part. He may go on and have a
decent career but I am pretty ambivalent about him going or coming back - can
see either result being OK with me.
Don't know enough about the younger players - Vann, Purver etc , but no
surprise that Botaka left - he did not pull up any trees at Charlton - one of
those players who looks great on youtube but is not really any good on the
pitch.
Hernandez s staying - probably good news but he definatlely needs to do more -
we cannot afford to have a player who is only good for set pieces however good
those set piece are.
Lee Erwin - there is nothing on there about him - I assume therefore he will
come back to us, at least in the short term. He did finish as Oldhams top
scorer with ten , I think, and I did watch a youtube video of all his goals
(see Oldham OS) - some seemed to show quality and he did have a much better end
to the season than his start there. Not sure if this was him adapting to the
Division or the fact that having played wide earlier on he was moved to centre
forward and relished it. I think Monk (hopefully it will be Monk) should have a
proper look at him but will probably get rid - we will need better back up than
him if we are going to be real challengers

Not particularly bothered about the first 3 loan signings, although Pedraza
showed the odd flash of class. Jannson is a tricky one, because the season
finale, and his role in it/out of it clearly impacted on finishing 7th. On his
day, and when he's focussed, he's a very good championship defender, and could
perhaps step up a level. Given the reported interest from other clubs, and the
dispute over payments, I reckon the odds of him starting for us next season are
slim.
