Generally agree with your caution here Dave, but I think Anita is a great buy and is going to be a hero for us, on balance the other incomers all look of a higher level than players we've bought in in previous seasons. TC is quite possibly a Wagner type, well versed in European Football, with a plan he wants the players to adapt to, a BUT as you say he and most of the new players have no idea of what the Championship is like and so I'd agree that at first at least the team we put out won't be that different to last seasons. The league cup match V Port Vale, should be interesting as I'd expect the team to be full of newbies.

Bolton and Sheff U are better and bigger than the clubs they replaced. Add to that the money Wolves have spent and that Villa will be more of a threat, Birmingham have brought in real experience (so could go either way) and teams like Derby Fulham etc will be decent. We need to move at least one place higher than last time to make the season anything like a success - the play off must be our minimum aim and yardstick for success. So can we be that little bit better than last time ?
