The sense I got is that they see Forshaw as a player who links defence and
attack.

I can't believe he's already hurt. What on earth is going on with our medical
staff/training? How many players have we got carrying knocks now? Shades of
Ekuban.

Cheers!

Sean

I only picked Phillips because I was under the (mistaken) impression that
Vieirra was still injuredI know nothing at all about Forshaw but what little I
have read led me to believe that he was a midfield 'dynamo' - I suppose time
will tell, even though we will not get to watch him tomorrowWhat do they say
Forshaw is then - clearly his record shows he is not a goal scoring
midfielderDave From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To:

there were a bunch of Boro supporters on Twitter saying that one thing Forshaw
is not is a ball-winning midfielder. I hope they're wrong. Secondly, why would
you pick Phillips ahead of Vieira in midfield?Cheers!Sean-----Original

TomorrowReally looking forward to the Millwall game tomorrow - for the first
time in ages they will have a decent following (claim to have sold 1,000) with
the 'bubble trip' restrictions being lifted. Whislt this may have some bad
points bringing out all the young chavs into town and the scrotes from the
local estates to throw things at the police, it should lead to a good and
hostile atmosphere in front of another full house.Whilst the good days in terms
of atmosphere will never return, at least Leeds fans do still have something
about them, that means we still have a noisy, intimidating fan base that can
give our players that extra push IF we get behind them and not on their backs.
This is something the Premier League teams have lost for the most partOn the
pitch we have made two signings, both should start, and both look as if they
are a (big) improvement on what we haveDe Bock is a genuine left back and has a
good pedigree so he will be an improvement on an out of position Berardi. He
also states that he 'likes a tackle' so with two hard tackling full backs plus
Pontus getting stuck in we will be tough at the back. A player who likes to get
stuck in can become an instant fan favouriteAdam Forshaw (at £4m quoted , the
most expensive player since Fowler £11m and Seth Johnson £9m) also has a good
pedigree and seems to be the sort of player we have been lacking since Bridcutt
turned to crap. He appears to be a player who likes to get the ball and pass to
a team mate, he also has the tools to open up defences (albeit he is a bit goal
shy - cannot be worse in this department than O'Kane and even maybe Vieirra-)
He has experience and will not be bullied. He was supposedly on the fringes of
an England call up when Boro were in the Prem. Also he has something to prove
with dropping out of the Boro team -if he really is the new Batty / dacourt
type then he is exactly what we need.I wonder if these additions and the lack
of Saiz will make TC change his formation? The back five will now pick itself -
Felix, Berardi, Pontus, Cooper, De Bock, then Phillips and Forshaw in
centre-midfield, so just 4 positions to be sortedOne big criticism of him has
been insistence on playing only one up front at home. This has worked with
Roofe as a lone stiker away from home but he lacks a real presence when teams
defend in numbers . Lassogga is an out and out goal scorer, so the lone role
does not suit him either. I would like to see him start with the pair of them
up front tomorrow and I do believe that will see us get back to the free
scoring side we were earlier. With Phillips and Forshaw putting in the yards in
midfield with either Alioski and Dallas as genuine wingers on either side that
is a team well capable of beating Millwall. Alternatively he could have 3 in
midfield with Dallas missing out and letting Hernandez float around behind the
front two or even be more of a
winger.Dave_______________________________________________Leedslist mailing
