Selling Viera smacks of the same old lack of aspiration to me, falsely promising to improve the club then doing so by selling one of only two saleable assets (the other being Pontus) that would generate decent money.
None of our other midfielders are any better than him in the holding / combative midfielder type, I do not get what people see in Forshaw he's done nothing to merit such high praise. He has a poor injury record and Leeds have won only 1 of the 12 games he played in last year, he looks distinctly average to me tidy and busy is about the best I can say (reminds me of Bridcutt, but thankfully doesn't sit quite as deep). we still need a decent centreback as others have said the rumoured Pennington return and thought of Cooper and him being 2 of our 3 choices at Centreback is nowhere near good enough for a side chasing promotion. Clubs with hopes of challenging do not sell players unless it's a silly offer and its clear the player wants to leave (e.g. Wood) cheers Ross ________________________________ From: Leedslist <[email protected]> on behalf of [email protected] <[email protected]> Sent: 31 July 2018 12:00 To: [email protected] Subject: Leedslist Digest, Vol 97, Issue 23 Send Leedslist mailing list submissions to [email protected] To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist Leedslist -- The Unofficial Leeds United Email List - APC<https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist> mailman.gn.apc.org This is the original (founded 1992) and 100% unofficial Leeds United Internet Mailing List Leedslist has no connection with Leeds United Football Club, or any other body or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to [email protected] You can reach the person managing the list at [email protected] When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than "Re: Contents of Leedslist digest..." According to Ives Galarcep, English Premier League club Stoke City has offered NYCFC $4.5 million for Harrison, with incentives that could push the final amount to $6 million. The new offer follows a $3 million bid that NYCFC declined last week. Harrison was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England and grew up in the Manchester United academy before moving to Massachusetts for high school. He played one season of college soccer at Wake Forest before being selected with the first overall pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. The English U-21 international had 10 goals and six assists in 34 regular season appearances last year and has 14 goals and 13 assists in 55 games in his two-year MLS career. ?I think everyone dreams of playing in the top leagues in Europe,? Harrison said when asked about the Stoke reports at?MLS media day on Saturday?in Los Angeles. ?Obviously growing up in England and everything it?s always been a dream of mine to play in the Premier League, but as of right now I?m still a New York City player ?As to the Stoke City rumors, nothing?s official yet so I?m still a New York City player right now and that?s where my mindset is at. As I said before, my agent deals with all that stuff, so I just leave it to him.? ------------------------------ Message: 10 Date: Mon, 30 Jul 2018 21:54:16 +0000 (UTC) From: Nicholas Armit <[email protected]> To: Leeds List <[email protected]> Subject: [LU] Jack the Lad Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Some interesting stuff in here if you can get past the FIFA nonsense (or just too old like me). Sounds like he is gone. Not sure how I feel about this, a year ago would have been gutted, but last year I thought he didn?t progress. And sometimes was a bit of a weak link. Still very young though so 7 mil is good money. Still kind of disappointing though. The future will show whether he is the real deal (so I hope we have a sell on clause) or becomes the next Mowatt and drops down the leagues a bit. If it is ?7m (to be honest I thought that it was 7m Euros (though almost the same at the moment)) then that is pretty much the money we are alleged to be paying for Bamford as the first bit, so swapping Vieira for Bamford does seem decent business given the needs of our squad. The stories about a return to ER by Pennington are more concerning - if Bielsa watched all our games last season I cannot believe he wants him back there are much better options out there, there must be, unless MB thinks he can do something special with him in terms of improvement Dave From: {broken-address} Nicholas Armit <[email protected]> To: Leeds List <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, 30 July 2018, 23:18 Subject: [LU] Viera Sounds like he is gone.
