200k is both very steep (compared to other fines) and also a drop in the ocean
given how much money is knocking about, even at our level. Our coffers should
be overflowing with all the sell out crowds etc plus TV cash, so it should not
make any difference to usI think we will (have) just accepted it so we can put
it to bed and get on with the real business -I am sure we would have taken any
points deduction to court. Hopefully it will no longer be hanging over us but
will annoy everyone just enough to give us a bit more siege mentality and a bit
of a spur.
The 'new rule' seems totally ridiculous and illogical - 'you can spy on other
teams but not in the 72 hours before a game' (not sure if that 72 hours will
only apply to actual opponents ie the team they are about to play or to any
team - if any team it make pretty much make 'spying' illegal since most teams
have a game every 3 days with midweek fixtures etc - also I wonder what the
penatly will be - surely it has to be more than the £200k we were fined for
"breaking" a law that did not exist
The whole thing has been a farce from start to finish - why did we do it, and
why are we punished for doing something that is not wrong (this 'fair play /
treat with respect' stuff is a total nonsense and there is a case for both
Lampard and his 'bolt cutter / training stopped' lies and the Brentford boss
being charged under the same rule ?
Anyway "F*** em all , the long and the short etc etc"
Get back to doing our talking on the pitch and winning games (with or without
Roofe)
