It has been a season and a half, certainly. But today's game was (apart from the 5 minutes of mayhem) exactly like all the others in recent times - we are toothless in front of goal to a degree that would be hilarious if it wasn't us.
I think that the problem boils down to a simple lack of vision in our mostly average players. Once Saiz left and Alioski and Hernandez mystifyingly lost their vision and ability to pass, we have been left with nothing but a "pass to a white shirt" mentality, which sure gives us a lot of possession, but achieves nothing in front of goal. I don't know what's happened to Pablo - but at the end of the day he's 34 and since his early days at Valencia he hasn't exactly excelled. So maybe the chink in his armour is not being able to handle pressure like we've seen at the end of this season?
